Importance of Need based Scholarships
Scholarships provide the student with an opportunity to earn an education without taking any help from outside sources. Those who have trouble
paying for the degree need scholarships to enter professional life and
become a contributing member of society.
There are many students in Pakistan who work in several places over the
course of their university studies in order to pay for their classes, books, and
lodging. This might be an option but it detracts from the time most students
need to learn. Their studies suffer when a student is overworked.
Pakistan has no shortage of talented youth but in several
instances, a lack of resources prevents them from realizing their potentials.
This becomes more problematic when it comes to accessing higher education. The
Government of Pakistan acknowledges these constraints and has tasked Higher
Education Commission to facilitate the needy and deserving students through
Need-Based Scholarships. Scholarships have been announced for financially
disadvantaged students of as many as 94 public sector universities and their
campuses. The scholarships aim to elevate the socio-economic status of the
students by enabling their chances to get modern education and career
opportunities for their brighter future. Financial assistance and scholarships
are available for study at the undergraduate level in all disciplines at HEC
selected public sector Pakistani universities and degree awarding institutions.
The Government of Pakistan has launched the country's
largest undergraduate Scholarship program Ehsaas Undergraduate scholarship
2019. Under the Ehsaas scholarship program, 200,000 scholarships will be awarded to
the deserving students in the coming four years. A 50% quota is reserved for female
students. Ehsaas scholarship is a fully-funded program, which not only covers
tuition fee but a monthly stipend will also be provided to the scholars.
There are different kinds of scholarships offered by the
universities of Pakistan. Those institutions providing scholarships to the participant must learn to correctly manage their finances to ensure a positive
relationship between donors and recipients. At UMT, merit-based scholarships are
awarded at the time of admission while need-based financial assistance can
be requested during the course of study only in exceptional circumstances. Some
awards, however, are based on academic performance during a semester but
double awards are not given.
At LUMS, all efforts are geared towards assisting as many
students as possible within our limited resources. Financial assistance is
offered to students with demonstrated need. These awards at the undergraduate
level are available in the form of Tuition Fee Waiver and LUMS Interest-Free
Loan. Undergraduate need-based assistance covers partial to full tuition fee
expenses of the program. The range of the amount of financial assistance over
the last year has been between 20% and 100%. These awards are reassessed in
each academic year based upon performance and demonstrated financial need. A financial Aid fee waiver is not required to be repaid whilst LUMS Interest-Free The loan will have to be paid back after six (6) months of graduation within a
maximum period of five (5) years. Need-based fee waivers are available for
deserving students based on assessed financial need and within the available
resources. It offers MPhil Need-Based Tuition Fee Waivers Financing of a
student's education is a commitment involving the student, his or her family, and our institution. Even if you are unable to pay LUMS Fee, we will make sure
your finances are not a barrier to getting a world-class education.
Similarly, at the time of admission to the University of
Central Punjab (UCP), a student with 1st divisions in Matric and Intermediate
can apply for financial aid. UCP offers up to 100% need-based scholarships to
deserving students. Students have to submit the financial aid application along
with all the supportive documents and then a committee will assess the need. A
student on financial aid will have to maintain 3.00 CGPA throughout his/her
course of study. In case of the unfortunate death of a father/guardian during
study at UCP, such students can apply for financial assistance. Up to 50% of
financial aid will be offered overall to the student on the recommendation of
an Assessment Committee. Such students will have to maintain a minimum of 3.00
CGPA.

adult thinking about going back to university, you need to know what you and
